Best buddies - Anna Serven and Genna Tlustos, cousins til the end.

Thoughts

Instead of making the "whew" noise, the tookies have taken to saying, "Shoosh."

This morning, Anna climbed in bed at 6:45. Any earlier than that, and she's told to get back in her own bed, but she got to stay (and can't tell time). We told her to be still instead of her usual cowgirl on daddy routine, and asked her to tell a story.

Here's the story she came up with: "There was a dog named Cosmo and a dog named Sally. That's all for now."

Happy happy joy joy

Anna

A few nights ago I (Doug) went upstairs to tell Anna goodnight. I've done this approximately, oh, a thousand times. We sing a song, pray, talk for a minute say we love each other, goodnight and perhaps a few seconds of tickling. So I found her in her room waiting.
I said, "Anna, I came up to tell you something. Do you know what it is?:
"What?"
"Guess."
She looks up to the ceiling with her eyes. Thinking...
"Grapes?" she asks.
I chuckle. "No, I love you was what I was going to say. Do you want to guess what else I'm going to tell you?"
Again the pondering look. Going to get it right this time....
"Oranges?"
"Nope. Good night."

But the last few nights, "Grapes and oranges" has stood in for "I love you and goodnight."

Grapes and oranges.

Early

Anna woke up at 5:15 today and dressed herself. Upon groggily conversing with her, I found out her Pull Up had filled up and she'd woken up. Not a fan.

Finding the sock.
